Mediation is the process where the parties come together with a third party neutral, the mediator, and work toward solutions to resolve your differences.
When bringing your divorce to a mediator, both parties participate in the negotiation and are able to voice their own wants and needs, while hearing the other parties wants and needs. The parties’ participation usually results in everyone feeling satisfied, less resentful, and happier with the overall outcome. The feeling of satisfaction also transfers to the children, helping them to better adjust to this significant change in their lives.
Our mediator has the legal knowledge and experience to make sure that the needs of all parties are fairly addressed and the future needs of everyone has been taken into consideration and discussed.
Litigation can be a very costly, and long process. When the final decisions are left up to the Judge, it increases the level of anger and bitterness felt by one or both parties. Further, the cost of both parties hiring their own attorney, and having all communication be done through their attorney can easily run in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Regardless of how complicated or simple the issues are, the mediator will assist you in reaching an agreement that everyone can be happy with, while costing far less than litigation.
